Synopsis
Oh Tae Sik, who renames himself Oh Gyeon Sik, works as a low-paid private security guard in Daechi-dong, Gangnam, earning only 880,000 won a month. Despite his harsh reality, he holds onto one stubborn dream — to become a detective.
Driven by generations of family hopes and inspired by shows like CSI and Detective Columbo, Gyeon Sik studies investigative techniques obsessively. Although he passes the written detective exam, he fails due to not meeting the hearing standard, crushing his hopes once again.
One day, by sheer coincidence, Gyeon Sik captures a fleeing criminal by throwing a bottle of water at him. The unexpected act turns him into a local hero, and a major promises him a position on the detective team. However, the detectives — on the verge of gaining investigative independence — fear that his presence may bring chaos. As doubts grow, they devise a risky plan to deal with the overly enthusiastic intern detective.
