Synopsis
After a heroic death, Kim Ja Hong enters the afterlife, where all souls must face judgment in the seven courts of hell over 49 days. Guided by three powerful guardians—Kang Rim, Hae Won Maek, and Deok Chun—Ja Hong must stand trial for sins including murder, indolence, deceit, injustice, betrayal, violence, and filial impiety.
As the guardians work to prove that Ja Hong lived a righteous life, a vengeful spirit begins causing chaos in the human world, complicating their mission. Driven by his wish to reunite with his mother, Ja Hong confronts painful memories from his past while the guardians uncover secrets tied to their own forgotten former lives.
Meanwhile, a new challenge arises when the guardians are ordered to escort the soul of an old man protected by a powerful House God within 49 days. As they journey between the realms of the living and the dead, hidden truths emerge, binding their destinies together and testing the meaning of justice, redemption, and sacrifice.
