Synopsis
“The Villain of Romance” is a coming-of-age story that explores the messy, awkward, and brutally honest side of young love.
Kang Hee Jae desperately wants to appear confident and cool in front of others. But beneath that exterior, he feels insecure and insignificant. As he struggles to forgive his girlfriend Ban Yoo Jin for her brutally honest and sometimes “savage” personality, his jealousy and insecurity slowly begin to transform him into someone he doesn’t even recognize—an obsessive and emotionally immature “villain” in his own romance story.
Ban Yoo Jin, on the other hand, is an intelligent and practical older student at the same college. Known for her sharp tongue and short-lived relationships that never seem to last beyond 100 days, she fears she may end up alone forever. When the younger Hee Jae boldly confesses his feelings, Yoo Jin decides to accept him—but not without putting him through her own intense “dating training.”
As they navigate misunderstandings, emotional growth, pride, and vulnerability, both begin to confront their flaws. Can these two imperfect people grow up and discover what real love truly means?
